I took a deep breath, the tension leaving my shoulders for the first time in nearly a decade. I didn’t type out a long, dramatic reply. I didn’t call them back to gloat or yell.
They had dug their own graves with their greed, their cruelty, and their boundless arrogance. There was absolutely nothing left for me to say.
I deleted the voicemails, powered down my phone, and dropped it into the bottom of my purse.
“Come on, guys,” I smiled, grabbing the handles of our carry-on bags. “It’s time to go.”
